This Privacy Policy explains how Financial Datasets, Inc. ("Financial Datasets," "we," or "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website, dashboard, API, MCP server, and ChatGPT app (together, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to this Policy. Your use of the Services is also governed by our
Terms of Service.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide
When you create an account, subscribe, make a purchase, or contact us, we collect information such as your name, email address, organization name, billing details, and the contents of your support requests.
1.2 Information we collect automatically
When you use the Services, we automatically collect device and connection information (such as browser type, operating system, device type, user agent, language, time zone, and IP address), approximate location inferred from your IP address, and usage and log data (such as the pages, endpoints, tools, or features you access, request status and error information, timestamps, and related operational metadata). We also use cookies and similar technologies, as described in Section 4.
1.3 API, MCP server, and ChatGPT app data
When you use our API, MCP server, or ChatGPT app, we process the inputs sent to us (such as ticker symbols, company or filing identifiers, dates, reporting periods, screening filters, and similar query parameters) and the outputs we return (the financial, market, filings, ownership, insider-trading, news, crypto, and macroeconomic data responsive to the request). Some outputs include public personal information contained in source data, such as the names, roles, and transaction details of company officers, directors, insiders, institutional investors, or analysts appearing in public filings, market, or news records.
If you authenticate your account, we also process account and organization identifiers, subscription status, and the authorization tokens needed to authorize the request. We do not receive your full ChatGPT conversation history; we receive only the tool-call inputs, outputs, authorization data, and operational metadata sent to us for a request. We log these requests and responses for security, abuse prevention, debugging, billing, reliability, analytics, and service improvement.
1.4 Information from third parties
We may receive information from third parties that help us provide the Services, such as authentication providers (for example, Google sign-in), analytics providers, and payment processors.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
• provide, operate, and maintain the Services;
• authenticate and authorize you, and enforce subscription and usage limits;
• process payments and manage your account and billing;
• respond to your requests and provide support;
• monitor, secure, and debug the Services and prevent abuse and fraud;
• analyze usage and improve the Services and develop new features;
• send account, transactional, and product communications, and, where permitted, marketing emails you can opt out of at any time; and
• comply with our legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
We do not use your inputs, queries, tool data, or other content you submit to the Services to train general-purpose machine-learning or AI models.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third-party advertisers for their own marketing. We share information only as follows:
•
Service providers and subprocessors. Companies that help us run the Services, such as hosting, storage, analytics, payment processing, and customer support. See our
Subprocessors list.
• ChatGPT integration. When you use our ChatGPT app, OpenAI sends your tool-call inputs to us and receives the outputs we return to display in ChatGPT.
• Legal, safety, and compliance. When we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with law or legal process, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights, safety, or property of Financial Datasets, our users, or others.
• Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
4. Cookies and Tracking
We and our service providers (for example, our analytics and payment providers) use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Services, remember your preferences, keep you signed in, measure usage, and improve performance. You can control cookies through your browser settings; if you block some cookies, parts of the Services may not work properly. We do not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.
5. Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services and for legitimate business and legal purposes:
• Account information (account, organization, subscription, billing, and authentication data) — while your account is active and for up to seven years after closure, for legal, tax, audit, security, and compliance purposes.
• API, MCP, and ChatGPT app logs — request and response logs, usage, and operational metadata for up to three years.
• Support communications — up to three years after the matter is closed.
• Aggregated or de-identified data — which does not identify you, may be kept indefinitely.
• Backups — after you request deletion, residual copies may remain in backups or archives for up to 90 days before they are overwritten.
Enterprise customers may have different retention periods set out in their agreement.
6. Security
We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Privacy Rights
You can access, update, or delete your account information at any time in your account settings or by contacting us at
[email protected]. If you use the ChatGPT app, you can disconnect it in ChatGPT to stop future tool calls from using your account; disconnecting does not delete records we are required or permitted to keep.
7.1 US state privacy rights
Depending on your state (for example, California under the CCPA/CPRA, and other states with similar laws), you may have the right to know about and access the personal information we hold about you, to delete it, to correct it, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. As noted above, we do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise these rights, contact us at
[email protected].
7.2 EEA, UK, and Switzerland
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you may have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent. We process personal data to perform our contract with you, for our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Services, to comply with legal obligations, and with your consent where required. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise these rights, contact us at
[email protected].
8. International Data Transfers
The Services are hosted in the United States. If you use them from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country.
9. Children
The Services are intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to use them, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice, for example by posting the updated Policy with a new date or by notifying you. Your continued use of the Services after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
11. Contact Us
